On average Australian children spend about 22 hours a week on a screen and six hours a week playing outside. The downside of too much screen time is well known but managing the time your kids spend on their device is difficult.

ABC’s Focus program looked at clever ways to get your kids off their screens, teach them how to self-manage their use and the developmental consequences of too much screen time. It also explored the importance of nature-connectedness to child and adult health.

Professor Desiree Silva, Co-Director of The ORIGINS Project and Head of Paediatrics at Joondalup Health Campus, joined the CEO of Nature Play WA Griffin Longley and James Symons who has developed a clever device called Tech Den to control screen time provide expert insights.
