By participating in ORIGINS, you are contributing to one of the largest and most comprehensive birth cohort studies ever.

By participating in ORIGINS, you are contributing to one of the largest and most comprehensive birth cohort studies ever.

ORIGINS aims to uncover when and why non-communicable diseases develop through the study of early environments, maternal and paternal physical health, and genetics. With your help, we can start to understand the factors involved, and with early intervention, give children the healthiest start to life.

Recruitment of ORIGINS active participants is now closed, but you can still be a valued part of the project as a Routine Data Participant.

Participant reference group

An ORIGINS participant reference group was established in November 2017. All families were sent an email inviting them to be part of an on-going reference group for the project. The aim of this reference group is to provide feedback and guidance on the project. The first meeting for the group was held in November 2017 at Joondalup Health Campus. The purpose of the meeting was to obtain feedback on the current practices of the project, including the recruitment process and the web-based questionnaires.
