ORIGINS volunteers regularly assist with project tasks such as sample pack making, filing and other administrative duties.
Students can also volunteer with the project further or prior to their student placement with ORIGINS, while junior doctors can volunteer for valuable research experience.
Volunteers can join ORIGINS through the Joondalup Health Campus volunteering program or independently by contacting ORIGINS.
Several of our previous volunteers are now in paid employment with The ORIGINS Project team.
ORIGINS encourages structured evaluation of its volunteer program to ensure our volunteers benefit as much as the project. At the commencement of a volunteering opportunity, we ask you to outline skills and experience that you would like to develop during your time with ORIGINS, and try to support your growth while working with us.

Are you eligible to become a volunteer?
- We are only able to consider Australian citizens or permanent residents.
- All volunteering arrangements longer than two weeks will require a current National Police Check and if you are working with children, a Working with Children Check will also be required.

Community Reference Group
ORIGINS community reference group consists of members of the Wanneroo and Joondalup community who meet regularly with researchers from the project.
The role of the community reference group is to provide a community perspective on all aspects of ORIGINS. We would love to hear your feedback, ideas and input.
