Reminder: All samples, except stool which can be kept frozen, must be given to ORIGINS on the same day that you collect them.

Getting your birth samples to us:

On the Ward: Hand your collected colostrum and/or meconium to a midwife on the ward after baby is born and they will send the samples through to ORIGINS.
Cord blood and Placentas: If you have consented, some cord blood and/or your placenta will be collected by the midwives and obstetrician after baby is born and the cord has been clamped. The midwives will notify the ORIGINS team and we will collect these from the birth wards.
